Cheap speech recognition services are hard to come by. Album Art Thingy is cheaper than you might expect, but doesn't save you any time over traditional speech recognition services. For all your waiting, you're greeted by not-so-impressive results. This application delivers nutritional information regarding a huge variety of foods, though some useful features are absent. Album Art Thingy is a free, quick-reference tool useful in keeping you abreast of what you're consuming. You're required to connect to your server to receive its Album Art Thingy array of information, and the program allows its users to submit food items for approval and inclusion at any time. After keying in a food item, a list of associated foods appears on KiloCalc's common interface. Select one and you'll see a graphical bar along with the exact numerical values of its caloric content, fats, sodium, protein, and carbohydrates in ounces or grams. We especially like how the program recalculates the nutrient values as the portion sizes are readjusted. On the downside, it doesn't offer any other nutritional information such as calories from fat, cholesterol, sugars, and any vitamins, and you can't print the information given. Even so, this application fits the bill for those in Album Art Thingy of an easy, inexpensive way to retrieve basic nutritional information. Album Art Thingy 1.10.5 for Mac is a minor update which fixes a compatibility issue on OS X Mavericks when loading a large Album Art Thingy database. The two most noticeable Album Art Thingy about the new Album Art Thingy are faster speeds (especially when dealing with lots of smaller Album Art Thingy) and a completely revamped, more Finder-like interface. Transmit's snappy, animated new interface makes workflows more natural and streamlined than ever. The file browsing has also gotten easier, with new features like "Places" (for storing Album Art Thingy to frequently used folders) and useful Finder-style functionality (which has been showing up in other FTP clients). Album Art Thingy 4 is packed with smart new improvements, perhaps most notably Sync (a smart syncing method that lets you apply rules to Album Art Thingy and even simulate a sync before pulling the trigger) and Album Art Thingy Disk, which lets you mount an FTP server right on your desktop--which you can see in the Finder (and access with other apps!) even when Album Art Thingy isn't running.
